Ways of Darkness - English version

Be part of a Fantasy RPG which you have never seen before. It unites High Fantasy (magic, elves, orcs, dwarves, halflings, gnomes, dragons) and Dark Fantasy (vampires, werewolves, undead) in a very interesting form.

PostSubject: The Early-Middle Age   Wed Mar 02, 2011 10:13 am

With the punishment imposed upon the renegades, a 800 years of peace came without any event worthy of recording into history books. High Elves didn't play very notable part yet, as they were busy with assimilating the halflings.

But 800 years later, something was about to happen. There was a person named Corlagon. He was the only son of the chieftain of a very powerfull and respected tribe. One day, the young Corlagon was visited by a high elven (it is only assumed, since he was following the Cult of Titanius. Some say that he was half-elf. The person's idenity was never recorded) person. He was an exile who was also very religious (according to some legends, he was a descedant of High King Fathred, whose son Guthbard converted to the Cult of Titanius after being captured by high elves, and later married a high elf woman. But this is just a legend. Altrough we know that Fathred died of old age, it was never recorded what happened to Guthbard, but it's assumed that he either died in battle or was captured and executed.). This person was accepted into the chieftain's household, and became mentor of the boy Corlagon. Altrough he couldn't convert the chieftain and his wife, he easaly converted Corlagon. After Corlagon grew up and his parents died, he became the new chieftain. His mentor became his main advisor. By that time, much of the tribe was already converted to the Cult of Titanius.
Corlagon was always dreaming of power as a child, and uniting all humans. Because of his faith, he found a new excuse for his ambitions - Holy War. He started by annexing smaller tribes. But his main enemies - whom Corlagon's father always saw as a threat to his tribe- the tribes Hritan Mece and Faren Byrig - wanted to stick to the old gods at all costs. At firsts, they had the advantage of numbers in this War of Unification of Humankind.
But Corlagon soon gained advantages trough technology. The High Elven king learned about his ambitions and supported him with whatever he could.

Corlagon managed to unite all the tribes of Etrand. But for some reason, he didn't pay attention to Hulra (now Etrancoast) - history tells us that he made a big mistake by ignoring them. But it might have been the way it should be.
By uniting the tribes, he founded the Kingdom of Etrand, and made the Church of Titanius the state religion. Everyone was converted, and this new religion was forced upon those who didn't want to convert. Humans adopted the high elven writing system (alphabet), the way they build castles and manufacture heavy armour.

So began the Kingdom of Etrand, still exsisting and ever powerfull.
